Job requirements

What a day as a DPO Consultant involves

  • Design and implement privacy programmes tailored to client needs.

  • Provide expert advice informed by decisions from the Belgian SA and regulatory updates.

  • Assist clients in integrating privacy by design/default into their processes.

  • Evaluate and adjust data processing activities to ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Perform in-depth privacy scans/audits and update improvement roadmaps.

  • Create clear, targeted documentation for various audiences, including management and executives.

  • Lead the response to data breaches and drive awareness initiatives.

  • Identify ways to optimise client outcomes and improve service offerings.

  • Communicate effectively with regulators and represent CRANIUM with integrity and professionalism.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and refine privacy strategies and roadmaps for clients.

  • Offer bespoke regulatory guidance aligned with legal developments.

  • Conduct and revise DPIAs/TIAs as needed.

  • Map data flows and establish effective data governance frameworks.

  • Deliver training sessions and foster privacy awareness within organisations.

  • Oversee third-party risk assessments and ensure compliance with DPAs.

  • Lead data breach responses and create actionable incident response plans.

  • Produce detailed documentation to demonstrate GDPR compliance.

  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders across different teams and functions.

  • Mentor junior team members, offering guidance and expertise.

  • Manage complex projects and deliver results within agreed timelines.

Your qualifications

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Law, Information Security, Data Science, or Criminology.

  • 4–6 years of relevant experience in data protection.

  • Certified as a Data Protection Officer (DPO).

  • Ideally, have a CIPP/E certification (not essential).

  • Strong understanding of GDPR, Belgian data privacy laws, and international privacy regulations.

  • Familiarity with ISO 27001 and 27701 standards is highly desirable.
