Job requirements

Your role

As a freelance privacy consultant, your role will be very versatile. Depending on your project, skills, and preferences, your role might include:

  • Design and lead privacy programmes tailored to client needs

  • Offer expert advice based on the latest regulatory developments and decisions (Belgian SA, EDPB, etc.)

  • Ensure clients integrate privacy by design/default in their operations

  • Conduct privacy scans and audits, create and update actionable roadmaps

  • Lead data breach incident handling and awareness initiatives

  • Draft clear documentation, from management briefings to C-level reporting

  • Support DPIAs, TIAs, third-party reviews and data flow mapping

  • Guide clients through GDPR accountability with clear governance structures

  • Deliver training sessions to promote privacy awareness

  • Collaborate with CRANIUM team members and client stakeholders

  • Identify and flag opportunities to strengthen data protection practices

What we’re looking for

You’re someone who:

• Has a genuine interest in data protection law and tech-driven challenges

• Thinks strategically but communicates simply and clearly

• Is confident managing complex client projects independently

• Brings energy, professionalism, and the ability to build trust fast

• Enjoys partnering with like-minded professionals — even when working solo

Your experience

  • 4–6 years of relevant experience in data protection/privacy

  • Strong command of GDPR and Belgian privacy law (global frameworks are a plus)

  • DPO Certificate required

  • CIPP/E certification is a bonus

  • Experience with ISO 27001 / 27701 or other relevant standards is highly valued
